Carlo
is a self-described “sponge for ideas and information on
spiritual matters, nature, gadgets and people who think
about what they think about.”
Born in 1952 to “extremely God-fearing parents”, he had
twelve years of Catholic education, including four years at
an all-boys high school. He frequently visits the deserts of
Southern California, appreciating the heat and inspiration
he finds there.
In the past, he was challenged with extended manic
depression, addiction, anger, poverty, homelessness and a
sense of good old fashioned Catholic guilt. Through learning
to go within for answers, he has risen above those
challenges.
“I understand that the purpose of my writings includes and
goes beyond inspiring my readers. I am writing for my own
enjoyment and my own spiritual evolution. I know that there
is still much to be integrated in order to spiritually
evolve more fully. While I have no
emotional investment in any particular person ‘getting’ my
philosophy, I do enjoy a spirited interplay of ideas having
to do with spirituality, emotion and happiness.”
Having found much inspiration in the spiritual ways of
America’s original inhabitants, Carlo has participated in
and led Sweat Lodge ceremonies and Vision Quests, influenced
mostly by Lakota Tribe ways.
He is
currently working on his second book, “The Seventh
Direction”. In the spiritual ways of many Native Americans,
the added directions are above, below, and within.
After being raised in America’s Midwest, then spending 11
years in Colorado, Carlo Ami currently resides in Southern
California. |
